This stunning wall relief depicts King Tutankhamen and his wife, Ankhesenamun, navigating the serene papyrus marshes in a boat crafted from papyrus stems. The scene, originally adorning Tutankhamen’s shrine, dates to Egypt's 18th Dynasty (1333–1323 B.C.), a period of profound cultural and religious transformation.

Though Tutankhamen's tomb dazzled the world with its treasures, the young pharaoh himself remains shrouded in mystery. Likely the son of Akhenaten by a secondary wife, Tutankhamen ascended the throne as a child and passed away as a teenager, around 16 or 17 years old. His wife Ankhesenamun was the daughter of Akhenaten and the iconic Nefertiti. During his reign, Tutankhamen oversaw Egypt’s pivotal return from Akhenaten's monotheistic worship of Aten to the traditional polytheistic beliefs centered on Amun-Ra. He also relocated the capital from El-Amarna back to Memphis, restoring continuity to the kingdom’s spiritual and administrative traditions.

The original piece resides in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (PN E-045S).

This reproduction is meticulously crafted from compound stone with an aged sandstone finish, designed to evoke the timeless beauty of ancient Egyptian art. It measures 6.75" high by 11" long and comes ready to hang, bringing a touch of historical elegance to your space.
