Rodin Male Torso Massive Muscles Bodybuilder Statue 6H
PN# RO28Desktop size statue of Rodin's Male Torso with exaggerated muscles. Museum quality in a small scale.
In between Romanticism and Impressionism the self-willed French sculptor Auguste Rodin created some of the most famous pieces known in the art of sculpting, characterized by a passion for the human body. When sculpting, Rodin started with the torso, the part of the body that -- in his opinion -- is the origin of all movement.
This impressive male torso, with extremely defined muscles, was used for three figures in the famous Gates of Hell, of which the 'falling man' is the most eye catching. The conspicuously wedge-shaped protrusion served to mount the sculpture. Why Rodin retained this elements when the torso was later also exhibited independently is unknown.
