Glass half dome paperweight with image of Belle Epoque lady holding a bundle of fruit. She looks towards you wearing a bouquet of flowers and leaves in her hair. She is a vision of Art Nouveau beauty from Mucha's perspective, an artist who drew fair maidens representing fruits, flowers, abundance, and the four seasons in his illustrations for posters. The colors are warm beige, yellow, orange, and burgundy.

Mucha became the most in demand illustrator of the Belle Epoque. Young Alphonse Mucha left for Vienna when he worked as an apprentice draughtsman for a studio which designed and decorated theatre scenery. Upon his return to Moravia his talent was spotted by the wealthy Count Karl Khuen-Belasi, who enabled him to study at the Akademie der Bildenden Kunste in Munich. Mucha continued his studies in Paris. He made extra money drawing illustrations for magazines and advertisements. Quite unexpectedly this proved to be his big break.
