Viking Shield Red White Round Historical Costume Pendant Necklace
PN# 10062A Viking Shield is recreated as a necklace pendant from resin made to look like old painted wood. The red and white pattern would have been the type of symbol applied to a battle shield to identify the clan. The back side replicates the back side of a Viking shield -- with handles where the warrior would have held it.
The Vikings were people who lived in Northern Europe during the Middle Ages. The Vikings played a major role in Northern Europe during the Middle Ages, especially during the Viking Age which was from 800 CE to 1066 CE. The word Viking actually means "to raid" in Old Norse.
- Viking Shield Pendant is supplied on a waxed cord.
- The information on the reverse of the card describes why the Vikings wore jewelry and how it evolved.
- Measures 1 5/8 in W x 1 5/8 in H x 1/4 in D. Weighs 1.5 oz.
This would be a fun addition to your homeschooling kit to teach children about the middle ages and the viking raids. Or it could be worn as part of a Viking Historical Costume.
