Egyptian Scarab Dangle Pierced Earrings with Lapis and Carnelians
PN# 4496LCOur Scarab earrings were inspired by the image of the Egyptian beetle. Scarab image appears on both sides. The beetle being the emblem of Khepera, the God of the morning sun, was regarded by ancient Egyptians as a significant symbol of resurrection and immortality. Possibly New Kingdom, circa 1300-1000 B.C.
The meaning of the inscription on the back: This is a scarab saying: Tut Ankh Amun, Ruler of Southern (Thebes, Known as Karnak).
Pierced dangle earrings are made from 24K gold-plate over pewter, enhanced by Lapis and Carnelian. Gold filled ear-wires. Earrings measures 2 in L x .25 in W each.
